Josh Epstein is the Managing Partner of the New York office and Chair of the Firm’s Litigation Department. His practice is focused on complex litigation and arbitration involving corporate transactions, business torts, real estate, securities, and intellectual property. He regularly represents hedge funds, strategic investors, private equity funds, marketing communications firms, lenders, financial institutions and advisors, and others in a broad range of disputes before federal and state courts, as well as private arbitration panels.
Among Josh’s many successful matters are:
- Representation of a leading public relations agency in a breach of fiduciary duty and tortious interference action brought by a competitor;
- Representation of a hedge fund in actions involving complex credit default swap transactions filed by the fund’s counterparties;
- Representation of a national advertising agency in a breach of contract action pursued by a former client of the agency;
- Counselling and representation of corporate directors and members of a limited liability company with respect to matters of corporate governance and management disputes; and
- Representation of a national media buying firm in a trademark infringement action.
Josh started his legal career at Hughes Hubbard & Reed and later became a partner at O’Sullivan Graev & Karabell LLP. After that, he was Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Solow Realty & Development Co, LLC. Josh returned to the private practice of law and, immediately prior to joining SORINROYERCOOPER, was a partner at Mintz & Gold LLP. His decision to join SORINROYERCOOPER is rooted in his belief that that the firm’s mission, guiding principles, service orientation, and delivery model align with his and resonate with business leaders and investors.
A member of the Bar of the State of New York, Josh is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. He earned his undergraduate degree at Amherst College, magna cum laude, where he was awarded the John Woodruff Simpson Fellowship in Law, and his law degree at New York University, where he received the Moot Court Award for Outstanding Advocacy.
