We seek to deliver legal services tailored to the needs of the emerging growth and middle market company sectors.  Our lawyers serve as an integral part of your team from our growing regional offices.  Clients benefit from our practical business judgment, common sense approach to problem solving, substantial experience, and well-honed legal skills, without being burdened by the high-cost infrastructure and resultant premium-level billing rates characteristic of much of large-law firm practice today.  Our founding partners include:

• Dave Sorin, a former corporate and securities practice vice chair of one of the nation’s largest law firms, as well as managing partner of New York and Princeton offices and founding partner and leader of a non-legal consulting firm that specialized in the finance and other business needs of start-up, emerging, expansion-stage, and mature privately- and publicly-held technology and life sciences entities;
• John Royer, a former member of the corporate and securities department of a major national law firm, as well as a practice group co-chair at a large regional law firm and, in between, general counsel and member of senior management of fast-growing private and public technology companies.  John, recognizing the special needs of emerging growth, technology, and life sciences businesses, founded Royer & Associates, LLC, a regional corporate law boutique firm, whose lawyers and staff have joined the new law firm; and
• Neil Cooper, a former business and finance lawyer at one of the world’s largest law firms and general counsel and member of senior management of a fast-growing, Nasdaq-listed technology company.  Based on these experiences, in 2003, Neil founded a boutique firm, Cooper Law Group, LLC, with a focus on transactional work and service as outsourced general counsel to many emerging growth companies without in-house legal capabilities of their own.  The lawyers and staff of Neil’s firm also have joined SORINROYERCOOPER.
